Web Design & Development for Thousand Oaks Small Businesses

I’m Eric Swain, a web designer and developer in Thousand Oaks, CA. I’ve launched more than 250 websites, and today I hand-code fast, mobile-first sites for small businesses across the Conejo Valley and Ventura County.

Small business website design, built by hand

Every site I build now is custom code, not a page-builder template. That keeps pages fast on a phone, gives me full control over the design, and means there’s no plugin pile to keep patching. A small business website has a simple job: tell people what you do, where you do it, and make it easy to call, book, or visit. I design around that job first.

A good example is Stolen Penny’s, a custom site I hand-coded for a nonprofit. It’s a hub where parents and children share their stories, where people can book speaking engagements, and where supporters can donate. You can see it with my other live client sites.

Web design examples for Thousand Oaks and Conejo Valley businesses

To show what a modern site could look like, I built 32 local website redesigns: unsolicited concept sites for real businesses around Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, Simi Valley and the rest of the Conejo Valley. They include restaurant website design, law firm website design, auto repair and auto body shops, dental and optometry offices, and more. Each one has its own design. They’re concepts only, and I’m not affiliated with those businesses.

Built for Google and local search

I build the search basics into every page instead of bolting them on later: a clear title and description for each page, one heading that says what the page is about, structured data that tells Google who you are and where you work, a sitemap, descriptive image text, and pages that load quickly on mobile. That doesn’t guarantee rankings, but it gives Google and AI search tools a clean, honest picture of your business.

Add AI to your website

Because AI consulting is the core of what I do, a website can be more than a brochure. If it fits your business, I can add AI to your website and connect it to the tools you already use, for example to speed up follow-up on new leads. And if you need video for the site, I handle video production too.

How quotes work

Every project is quoted after a free 30-minute call, and you get one fixed price for the scope we agree on, not an hourly meter.

What working with me looks like

  1. Discover

A free 30-minute call where I learn how your business actually runs and where the work would pay off first.

  2. Build

I design and build it, with a progress update every week so you always know where things stand. Most projects take weeks, not months.

  3. Handoff

You get training, plain-English docs, and the accounts in your name. What I build keeps working even if I walk away.
